Amazingly, while multitudes of people throughout the world claim to be Christians, many have very confused ideas about what a Christian really is. In The Christian, William A. Webster turns to the teaching of Jesus himself and to the documents of the New Testament to answer the basic, but vital question: 'What is a Christian?' Rather than ask his question of church leaders, or theologians, or media commentators, he adopts a deceptively simple approach, but one which is so obviously the correct one: he takes us back to the original sources of the Christian faith. There he shows us answers which make for illuminating and gripping reading. William Webster is a Christian businessman living in Tennessee. He is married with five children and is a member of River Oaks Reformed Presbyterian Church in Memphis.

This man is a gifted preacher and teacher. Everything I have read or listened to by him is thoroughly Biblical and presented clearly and understandably. I am sorry that this book appears to be out of print. I think everyone who professes Christ as Lord and Savior would do well to read this book and "Holiness" by J.C. Ryle. A terrific book.

This is a very important book on what the Bible teaches on what it means to be a child of God.... on what it means to be 'born-again.' I read this book 20 years ago and just recently reread it and thoroughly enjoyed it. A very important book! Kudo's to the author!!
