The Remarkable Record of Job: The Ancient Wisdom, Scientific Accuracy, and Life-Changing Message of an Amazing Book Hardcover – January 1, 1988

4.8 4.8 out of 5 stars 276 ratings

Far from being an engaging fable, the account of Job in the bible is one of the most historically and scientifically accurate records of the ancient world. Perhaps the oldest book in the Bible, the book of Job touches on many subjects of science and history. This commentary on the controversial Book of Job is very different from most of the seminary and church teachings so prevalent today, for it attests to the historicity of a man named Job who understood at the end of his life that God cannot be ?figured out,? but He can most certainly be trusted. 150 Pages Trade Paperback

A prolific and influential scholar known to believers and skeptics alike as “the father of modern creation science,” Dr. Henry M. Morris truly was a man of science and a staunch man of God. He was even said to have set the terms of debate about evolution for the second half of the 20th century by one Pulitzer Prize-winning academician. Dr. Morris began his serious study of the Bible in the 1930s and authoring books in the 1940s, but it was his landmark work, co-authored with Dr. John Whitcomb, titled The Genesis Flood in 1961 that influenced generations to begin discovering the fallacies of evolution and the biblical truth of creation.

With over 60 books, founding and leading the Institute for Creation Research (ICR), Dr. Morris’ death in 2006 was a profound loss to millions.

Dr. Morris created a thriving legacy that continues to equip many Christians to be able to defend the accuracy and authority of Scripture today. The new Henry Morris Study Bible and other resources that he developed remain essential sources of knowledge and understanding for believers.

I will be recommending this book to many! I love his writing style and angle. Too many lean heavily on the suffering side; there is SO much scientific evidence that gets left out in that case. Loved it!

Answered several questions I had; brought up other ideas I hadn’t thought about. Bought another copy for my daughter.

This is an incredible book! Made such an impact in my life! Really put things in perspective.
The book of Job is not necessarily a book to teach us of suffering and patience as much as its true purpose is to teach us of the Majesty of our Great God and Creator. We used this as a study in our small group which my husband was teaching. Only one lady in our group said she had a difficult time getting into the book but stuck with it and was so glad she did cause it had such a proufound impact. All the other members of our group likewise were similarly impacted In-depth study that you will not regret.
This book can be read by an individual or used in a group setting. The reason we used it in our group was because I had read it myself and was so impressed that I just had to share its message. Wonderful book that will draw you into a deeper relationship with the one true God.

Enjoyed reading this book and gleaning some truths. Great depth in an easily readable form, definitely a keeper for future reference.

Many diligent years of Bible study under the guidance and by the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and indwelling Holy Spirit, Henry Morris shares with the love of a teacher for his students, in the love of a saint for the Saints, a passionate study in a often misunderstood book of the Bible. Concise and lovingly laid out with a s dentists precision it reflects the awe the redeemed have for our Creator God.

Personally the Lord has led me to embark on a joint study of both James and job which I think will be fascinating and interesting. Praise the Lord for the Morris family and His work in their lives.

I believe this is the most biblical and accurate framework for understanding the book of Job. Everyone comes to the text with presuppositions. This interpretation lets the text speak for itself and doesn’t read into the Bible long ages or evolution. Morris says that if the problem of suffering is the point of the book of Job, God never gives the answer. Many great pastors and theologians miss the mark here, but Morris nailed it.

Explains why all people endure pain and suffering in spite of their righteousness. Also explains why the account of God’s creation is ever so important.

5.0 out of 5 stars Das Buch Hiob verstanden
Reviewed in Germany on August 29, 2021
Sehr empfehlenswert.
The book of Job was probably the most difficult in the Bible for me so far. But the author has illuminated it from a point of view that is surprising to me.
All the questions are not answered, otherwise the author and I would be like God, but a couple of seals have been broken - a reassuring feeling. Highly recommended.

3.0 out of 5 stars Dry in parts but worth reading.

Have read Henry M Morris' Genesis Record which is excellent. This is a fairly interesting read of the Job account. Takes the view that Job was a literal person. As I do. Quick and easy read but a little dry in places.
