Renzo De Felice was one of the most eminent 20th century Italian historians. He is best known not only for The Jews in Fascist Italy: A History, but also for his monumental 8-volume biography of Mussolini, also published in Italian by Einaudi. De Felice was born in 1929 in Rieti, near Rome. He studied with two distinguished modern Italian historians, Federico Chabod and Delio Cantimori, and then taught history at the universities of Salerno and Rome. De Felice died in 1996. This new printing of the translation The Jews in Fascist Italy: A History is published by Enigma Books with the support of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum.
